What We’re Looking For:
Experience in one or more of the following areas is valuable:
What You’ll Gain: As a member of our board, you’ll have the opportunity to:
Meetings and time commitment requirements: The board of directors meets quarterly (January, April, July, October) on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. We meet virtually and try to keep meetings to one hour. Committee meetings are based on need and meet about 3-4 times per year. The board also participates in periodic fundraising activities. BCT board members commit to a 2-year term with the option to renew up to 2 times.
Cohort Applicants: We believe that poor/unacceptable behavior on the part of businesses and government disproportionately hurts the most marginalized people in society, including people of color, people from lower-income backgrounds, women, LGBTQIA+ people, and people with disabilities. Because we believe that these communities must be centered in the work we do, we strongly encourage applications from people with these identities or who are members of other diverse/underserved communities. We recognize that being the only person with a specific identity on a board is not ideal, so we welcome paired cohort applications. This means two people would apply together, and if selected, both would join the board or decline together.
How to Apply: To express interest or learn more, please contact Maia Longenecker at maia@bluechanneltherapy.org
