Claire is a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Adams State University. She brings more than 10 years of experience working with children and adolescents across early intervention, inclusive education, and behavioral therapy.Mostly having worked with neurodivergent and nonspeaking youth, Claire has developed a deep understanding of how trauma and stress can go unrecognized or be misinterpreted when children communicate and express their experiences differently, particularly within systems built around neurotypical expectations. She is passionate about advocating for children and families navigating barriers to health care, educational access, and belonging, especially where identity, disability, communication differences, and systemic oppression intersect.Claire believes meaningful therapy begins with connection, curiosity, and a therapeutic space where clients feel safe, seen, and free to be themselves. In sessions, she blends somatic techniques and Synergetic Play Therapy with her ongoing training in EMDR. Claire is dedicated to partnering with clients and caretakers to strengthen connection, attunement, and confidence while developing skills that support their child’s growth and healing across school, home, and social spaces.
When Claire is not working, she enjoys hiking by rivers, collecting rocks, and gardening. She also loves to read and spend time playing video games with her nephews and husband.
